Contactless payment is a fast, easy and safe way to pay for travel on public transport. All you need to do is show your payment card to the reader and hop aboard.
Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard and Eurocard payment cards with a contactless payment feature are accepted for contactless payment or mobile (Google Pay and Apple Pay) to pay for your fare.
At the moment you can pay for a single ticket with contactless payment, which costs as much as normal value ticket. For example, in zone A € 2.40.
The reader does not print a ticket. You can check the payments charged and the trips made from the customer portal after the trip. Use the payment card details to log in to the portal. The portal shows the trips made and the prices charged, and you can also print out a receipt from there.
You can use contactless card or device to pay for your own travels only. If you want to pay for someone else’s travel, use e.g., Waltti Mobile ticket.
Contactless payment is a convenient payment method for you who use public transport occasionally, for example, for one day or a week. The system always calculates the lowest possible fare thanks to the cap limits.
When you travel a certain number of trips during the day, you will only be charged the price of a single ticket, and when you travel a certain amount per week, you will be charged the price of a weekly ticket. The weekly ticket (day ticket) will be available later.
In addition to Hämeenlinna, contactless payment is also used in Oulu, Tampere and Turku.
